Project Scope : This Post-modernist hotel is a glass curtain wall construction, built a few steps from Times Square. Its facade is divided into crystal blue toward the west side and tiles in colors orange and pink to the east, a choice of color attributed to the allusion of heaven and earth. The complex comprises two buildings, one high and one low, both related to the hotel and its many facilities. The main tower is separated from the pre- existing structure. Once assured the resistance base of the building and to avoid any conflict between the east and the new building was built a base of steel trusses that ensure equal distribution of the new building on the existing building. This was necessary because the structural grid of the E-Walk did not match the structural grid of the hotel. Once spread the burdens addressed the link between the two buildings like a new building on the ground, placing 18 seismic insulation that ensure the possibility that both works move independently.
